Alpha Science Research Laboratory hosts state-of-the-art research equipment, modern patient rooms, and access to Dr. Jarrett’s Wellness Center and Spa. At Alpha Science Research, we understand that clinical studies lead to new, innovative, medical treatments, and safe, effective, pharmaceuticals. Dr. Jarrett’s Wellness Center serves a diverse population of South Florida residents. Many of our patients suffer from various medical issues including hypertension, obesity, diabetes, migraines, cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia, and various rheumatological problems such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, we see and care for patients with various dermatological complaints, such as acne, alopecia, and psoriasis.
At Alpha Science Research, we believe that all individuals benefit from a holistic approach to wellness, where overall health is achieved by the interaction of many parts such as exercise, diet, self-awareness, and appropriate medications. We also have a diverse staff at our practice, featuring individuals from Latin America, the West Indies, Africa, various parts of the US, and Canada. Board Certified Family Physician
Wentworth Jarrett, MD, is a board-certified family physician offering personalized, holistic care to Floridians at Dr. Jarrett’s Wellness Center in Miami, Florida. For over 25 years, Dr. Jarrett has promoted health among families and individuals in South Florida.
Dr. Jarrett was born and grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, where his incredible background in the medical field began. He earned his doctorate from the University of the West Indies School of Medicine in Kingston, Jamaica. He then completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, where he has practiced ever since. Dr. Jarrett has been involved in structured Clinical Research with several sponsors as a Principal Investigator for twenty-plus years.
Among peers and colleagues, Dr. Jarrett stands out with many top positions and memberships. He is affiliated with Dade County Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Outside of his work at Dr. Jarrett’s Wellness Center, Dr. Jarrett holds three hospital affiliations in the area. He compassionately listens to his patients’ needs and meets them to the greatest extent possible. Among numerous other services, he provides comprehensive medical exams, and diabetic education and counseling.
Dr. Jarrett is happily married and enjoys spending his free time with his spouse and two sons.

Derrick Jarrett graduated from Medical School in 1990 and has been a Practicing Physician in Kingston Jamaica for the past 33 years. He migrated to the USA In 2020 where he has been working in Clinical Research as the Clinical Coordinator at Alphascience Research. He brings decades of experience both as a Scientist with his background in Natural science and Research as well as his Clinical skills honed over his 30 plu3-plus in Private practice in Jamaica. He is a certified Flight surgeon acquired in his service to the
Jamaican Military and has experience in Complementary Medicine.
Derrick Jarrett

Tor W. Jarrett, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician providing holistic care to patients at Dr. Jarrett’s Wellness Center in Miami, Florida. He is committed to providing exceptional care to individuals living throughout South Florida.
Dr. Jarrett completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he majored in human biology in 2013. He went on to study at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2018. Subsequently, Dr. Jarrett completed his family medicine residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, in 2021.
Throughout his career, Dr. Jarrett has gained invaluable experience working in a variety of healthcare settings. He has had the opportunity to work in wound care clinics, for organizations providing home care to the elderly, and in private practice settings. In addition, Dr. Jarrett has participated as a sub-investigator in Clinical trials at Alpha Science Research.
To better serve the communities of South Florida, Dr. Jarrett is conversant in both English and Spanish.

Tanzie Avello, MSN, ARPN, AGPCNP-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner offering care to individuals at Dr. Jarrett's Wellness Center, located in Miami, Florida. Her mission is to help improve the health and lives of her patients in South Florida.
Ms. Avello has had seven-plus years of experience participating as a sub-investigator in Clinical Research at Alpha Science Research.
